One person dead, three injured following two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Preston Highway and Cooper Chapel Road

Louisville, KY – Police officials have reported that the accident occurred right after 8 p.m. Thursday.

It happened at the intersection of Preston Highway and Cooper Chapel Road.

LMPD officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash.

The responding officers discovered that a pickup truck pulling a trailer was headed south on Preston Highway and made a left turn onto Cooper Chapel Road.

Another vehicle then crashed into the pickup, causing the pickup to catch on fire.

Passenger in the pickup truck suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Both occupants of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries, police said.

This incident remains under investigation.
