Louisville Metro Police Department and Community Rally to Support Victimized Family

Louisville, KY – The Louisville Metro Police Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to the community for rallying behind a local family in need. Ms. Jamilia Chillers, an innocent bystander caught in a recent shooting, found herself victimized again when burglars targeted her home while she was recovering in the hospital.

As a hardworking mother of six children, Ms. Chillers faced the devastating loss of many household items due to the burglary. However, thanks to the collective efforts of 2nd Division officers and District Resource Officers, along with generous donations from community members, the family’s belongings have been replaced.

Ms. Chillers, deeply moved by the outpouring of support, has urged more individuals to speak out against violence in the community.

Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to all, and the Louisville Metro Police Department stands in solidarity with her in advocating for a safer, more compassionate community.

As Ms. Chillers continues her recovery journey, the Louisville Metro Police Department reaffirms its commitment to supporting victims and fostering a community united against crime and violence.
