LMPD’s First Division responded to a report of a suspicious package downtown on 5th Street near Jefferson and Market

Louisville, KENTUCKY – According to the police officials, this incident occurred around 8:09 a.m. Friday.

It happened on 5th Street near Jefferson and Market.

LMPD’s First Division responded to a report of a suspicious package.

A device, which appeared to be a pipe with wires protruding from it, was quickly located.

LMPD’s Bomb Squad determined the device was not an explosive.

The joint-investigation is active and ongoing.
